texture (mercy)

These 3 photos emphasize the detail of nature. I took several closeup shots of plants and flowers and payed attention to my focus and composition in order to play out certain details.

Great Landscape

I took this photo on a trail off of Larkspur. I chose to use edge burn on this photo so that I could focus on the water through the trees. I also used a cyan color filter to bring out the richness of the blues in the center.

chapel

This is a photo I took in the Mercy Chapel. I got down to the eye level of the pews so that I could capture the detail of the wooden carvings. I also used rhythm because the photo makes the viewer's eyes travel down the aisle. Value and contrast allow greater emphasis on the detail of the first pew.

photojounalism

I chose to go to Union Square for my photojounalism 6 image essay because there is never a dull moment in the city. I decided to put a lot of my photos in black and white to emphasize the textures, people, and lights. It's also not too hard (or awkward) to take photos in public while in the city, because there are so many tourists that take photos there as well.
