I had my cousin take this photo of me outside in my backyard playing my guitar. I chose to be playing in my portrait because it is an important part of my life and I thought a prop would make the photo more personal. I cropped it so that I would be emphasized but also keep a sense of space. I think the shape and position of the visible portion of the guitar is important because it displays just the right parts of the guitar, for example if the head of the guitar was cropped, the photo would be left a bit awkward.
